Pridefest

As an Open and Affirming Congregation, Compton participates each year in PrideFest St. Louis and Tower Grove Pride. Since 2003 our booth has offered the opportunity for LGBTQ+ people to talk about faith and to possibly find a welcoming church home in the community. This is a wonderful faith-sharing opportunity and an expression of Jesus’ hospitality.

The thing we remember is that God is already in the lives of lesbian, gay, bi, transgender,  queer, and questioning people – young and old.  So many of us are negotiating the journey on which we discern how we live as God’s people in the world; how we live out the love and compassion of Jesus the Christ.  Our sexuality is only one part of that journey.  We are all fully human, created in love of God, with gifts of life to share in God’s world.  Come explore faith and life in this community of God’s people.

Starting in 2018 Compton has joined with other St. Louis Area Disciples of Christ congregations to sponsor the booth at PrideFest downtown. We also sponsor our own booth at Tower Grove Pride.  It is always a great experience; we have powerful faith conversations with the wonderful people who came to visit our booths.  We hope to see you at Pride!
