ABOUT OUR PASTOR

In August 2024 Compton called the Rev. Joseph (Jody) Clegg as our Transitional Pastor. Jody is a Georgia native who graduated with his B.A. in Political Science from George Washington University. He originally moved to St. Louis to attend Washington University Law School – then decided to stay! He is a 2016 M.Div. graduate of Eden Theological Seminary.

He has previously served as Sabbatical Pastor at Affton Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Hope United Church of Christ (St. Louis), Webster Groves Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Community Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and as Bridge Pastor at Union Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Before starting seminary, he served as a compliance officer for 13 years, first for an employee benefits administrator and then for an investment adviser. He was an active lay leader at Kirkwood Baptist Church, serving as adult education teacher, deacon, trustee, and church pianist. It was through his work as an adult education teacher that he discerned a call into professional ministry – something that, as a pastor’s kid, he said he’d never do!

As our Transitional Pastor, he leads our worship services, and provides on-going spiritual support to the congregation.

ABOUT OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR

Our Music Director is David French.  David grew up with involvement in church music in nearby Herculaneum, Missouri.  His passion is piano and he also plays organ.  David has studied music at Jefferson College and  Missouri Baptist University, has provided accompaniment for the music program at Forest Park Community College, and has served in church choral leadership.  David has fun with our choir in both choral direction and leadership of congregational song.
