Pridefest – June 24th and 25th
As an Open and Affirming Congregation, Compton Heights Christian Church has a booth at PrideFest St. Louis offering the opportunity for LGBT people to talk about faith and to possibly find a welcoming church home in the community. This is a wonderful faith-sharing opportunity and an expression of Jesus’ hospitality!
We always we have some great conversations and some super hugs! We keep in our hearts that God is already in the lives of lesbian, gay, bi, transgender, and questioning people – young and old. So many of us are negotiating the journey on which we discern how we live as God’s people in the world; how we live out the love and compassion of Jesus the Christ. Our sexuality is only one part of that journey. We are all fully human, created in love of God, with gifts of life to share in God’s world. Pridefest is a wonderful time to explore faith and life in this community of God’s people!
The 2016 festival will be held at Soldiers Memorial in downtown St. Louis. Compton Heights’
booth will be open from 11am to 9:00 pm on June 24th and from 11am to 7:00 pm on June 25th. If you would like to volunteer to serve in our booth, the sign-up sheet is on the door to the church library.
See below for a map, Compton’s booth is #39 on the North side of Chestnut between 14th Street and 15th Street. Hope to see you at Pridefest!
